What is Dollars for Scholars?

Shenendehowa Dollars for Scholars® is a 501(c)(3) non-profit foundation established in November 2000 in Clifton Park, New York.  We are a local chapter of a national non-profit, Scholarship America® Dollars for Scholars. Our chapter serves students who are permanent residents of the Shenendehowa School District no matter what high school they attend - home-schooled students are also eligible to apply for scholarship consideration. Our goal is to raise funds for scholarships to help students meet the high cost of post-secondary education. Dollars for Scholars chapters work with hundreds of colleges (some of which match our awards) to maximize the value of our scholarships and reduce students' reliance on loans.  Twenty-Three students received a total of $15,350 this year (2022).
