What is Dollars for Scholars?
Shenendehowa Dollars for Scholars® is a 501(c)(3) non-profit foundation established in November 2000 in Clifton Park, New York. We are a local chapter of a national non-profit, Scholarship America® Dollars for Scholars. Our chapter serves students who are permanent residents of the Shenendehowa School District no matter what high school they attend - home-schooled students are also eligible to apply for scholarship consideration. Our goal is to raise funds for scholarships to help students meet the high cost of post-secondary education. Dollars for Scholars chapters work with hundreds of colleges (some of which match our awards) to maximize the value of our scholarships and reduce students' reliance on loans. Twenty-three students received a total of $19,300 this year (2024).
Please consider a donation to our chapter. You may donate online or by sending a check payable to Shenendehowa Dollars for Scholars, P.O. Box 4390, Clifton Park, NY 12065. Your donation will be tax deductible under the full extent of the law and 100% will go towards local scholarships. Special named scholarships and memorial scholarships may be established with a minimum contribution of $500.
